Job summary

The World’s Identity Company is recruiting a Principal UI Engineer to build secure, scalable frontend experiences for identity-centric apps. You’ll work on the First Party Apps Platform, delivering high‑impact web interfaces and authentication‑driven features used by millions of users.

You’ll partner with product, design, and backend teams in a hybrid US setup, bringing deep React and TypeScript expertise to a complex enterprise environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
• 13+ years of frontend development experience with complex web applications.
• Expertise in React with hooks, state management, and component lifecycle.
• Strong TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3 skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of complex, high‑performance features using React and TypeScript.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, UI/UX designers, and backend engineers to translate requirements into robust and effective frontend solutions.
• Write clean, modular, well‑tested, and maintainable code, adhering to best practices and coding standards.

Access Essentials - Core Product

The Access Essentials organization at the company builds the platform features for authentication and authorization across the company‑protected resources. Our mission is to enable customers to access these resources seamlessly & securely. We develop the company cloud services and client software that allow users to seamlessly login to devices and use the company authenticators to access applications securely. First Party Apps Platform team is part of the larger Access Essential - Core Product organization. We develop the company’s secure web experiences for end‑user authentication and access. Our products and features are high‑impact and high‑visibility. Our team develops the the company Sign‑in Widget, End User SSO Dashboard, and the the company Browser Plugin.

The Engineer Opportunity

We seek an experienced web front‑end engineer to join our First Party Apps Platform team. Minimum Requirements:

• 13+ years of professional experience in frontend development, with a strong focus on building complex web applications.

• Deep expertise in React, including a strong understanding of its core principles, hooks, component lifecycle, and state management.

• Proficiency in TypeScript, with a proven ability to leverage its features for robust and maintainable codebases.

• Solid understanding of modern JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.

• Experience with front‑end tooling such as Webpack, Babel, Vite, and package managers (Yarn).

• Demonstrated experience consuming and integrating with RESTful APIs.

• Familiarity with testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, React Testing Library, Playwright) and a commitment to writing comprehensive tests.

• Strong understanding of version control systems, particularly Git.

• Experience with responsive design principles and building accessible web interfaces.

• Excellent problem‑solving skills, with the ability to debug complex issues and find practical solutions.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a cross‑functional team.

Nice to have:

• Familiarity with design systems and component libraries.

• An understanding of Identity and Access Management protocols and architecture, e.g., FIDO, U2F, WebAuth, SSO, SAML, OAuth, Federation.

• Contributions to open‑source projects.

Education and Training:
