Job summary

BILL is a leading fintech company focused on automating complex financial workflows for businesses across the US. The Billing and Monetization team is building a scalable, modular engine and a platform to support pricing, billing, and subscription management with customer-facing experiences in the UI.

We’re hiring for a senior development role requiring 5+ years of experience with Java, AWS, Lambda, and event-driven architectures.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of development experience with a Bachelor’s degree; additional work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Experience working on large scale, complex applications using Java, AWS, Lambda and Event Driven Architecture.
• Experience working with REST API development and GraphQL
• Familiarity with databases (PostGres, MySQL, Oracle, DynamoDB)
• Knowledge of best practices & patterns for large scale applications
• Strong automated testing habits (unit, integration, e2e)
• Care about accuracy and data integrity in systems that handle money.
• Billing, Pricing, or Payments domain experience.
• Excellent teamwork and communication

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain scalable billing and pricing systems.
• Collaborate with internal teams to enable billing for new products.
• Develop REST API and GraphQL services.
• Ensure data integrity and testing coverage for money-handling systems.

We’re developing a scalable, modular engine and a platform that lets internal teams enable billing for new products quickly. We also own the customer-facing pricing and upgrade/downgrade experience in the UI. Our work delivers incremental value for internal and external customers.

Our ranges for each role and job level are based on a variety of factors including candidate experience, expertise, and geographic location and may vary from the amounts listed below. The role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, flexible spending & health savings account, paid holidays, paid time off, and other company benefits. The estimated salary ranges noted below roles in the specific geographic zones

Zone 1: San Francisco Bay Area CA (includes HQ), New York City, Seattle, Los Angeles County

$152,500—$183,000 USD

Zone 2: CA (Non San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles County), Austin TX, Massachusetts

$137,300—$164,700 USD

Zone 3: Utah (includes Utah office), Dallas TX, Houston TX, Florida, North Carolina, Illinois, Colorado, Arizona, Georgia, Oregon, Pennsylvania

$129,600—$155,600 USD
