Job summary

Roo in San Francisco, CA, is seeking an experienced frontend platform engineer to set the long-term technical direction of our frontend stack and design system. You will partner with Product and Design to evolve the system and simplify consumption, while leading upgrades and migrations.

The role emphasizes collaboration with designers, deep React/TypeScript expertise, and hands-on AI-assisted development to streamline engineering pipelines and enable rapid page and flow delivery.

Qualifications

• Significant experience building production software with a focus on frontend systems.
• Strong full‑stack engineering fundamentals with deep expertise in React and TypeScript.
• Experience with React Native or mobile platforms.
• Experience collaborating with designers and modern design systems.
• Hands‑on experience with AI‑assisted development: Cursor, Claude, or similar.
• Connecting design systems to prototyping tools, AI coding environments, or engineering pipelines.
• Ability to operate effectively within an engineering organization.
