Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior frontend architect to own Roo's frontend platform, shaping architecture for web and mobile, and guiding design-system adoption.

You will partner with Product and Design to evolve the design system, lead React and TypeScript efforts, and drive AI-assisted tooling and scalable workflows across engineering teams.

Qualifications

Significant production software experience, especially frontend systems.
Expertise in React and TypeScript.
Experience with design systems and Figma.
Ability to own a technical roadmap and work with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

Own the long-term frontend platform direction, including systems, tooling, and architecture for web and mobile.
Partner with Product and Design to evolve the design system as a foundational platform.
Improve design-system adoption through integrations, documentation, tooling, and developer workflows.
Lead framework upgrades, React Native modernization, Expo adoption, and shared library evolution.
Migrate legacy components to the v2 design system and provide migration tooling and documentation.
Establish reusable patterns for shipping pages and flows from the component library.
Improve developer experience through shared tooling, automation, documentation, templates, and workflows.
Identify and eliminate friction points that slow engineers, designers, and AI agents down.

Job description

Own the long-term technical direction of Roo's frontend platform, including systems, tooling, and architecture powering development across web and mobile
Partner with Product and Design to evolve the design system as a foundational platform
Improve design-system adoption through integrations, documentation, tooling, and developer workflows
Lead framework upgrades, React Native modernization, Expo adoption, and shared library evolution
Own migration of legacy components to the v2 design system and provide migration tooling and documentation
Establish reusable patterns for quickly shipping pages and flows from the component library
Improve developer experience through shared tooling, automation, documentation, templates, and workflows
Identify and systematically eliminate friction points that slow engineers, designers, and AI agents down

Requirements

Significant experience building production software, including frontend systems
Strong full-stack engineering fundamentals with deep expertise in React and TypeScript
Comfort building frontend experiences, backend services, developer tooling, and platform infrastructure
React Native or mobile experience
Experience working closely with designers and modern design systems
Proficiency with Figma and understanding of scalable frontend architecture
Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor or Claude
Experience connecting design systems to prototyping tools, AI coding environments, or engineering pipelines
Ability to operate effectively in an engineering organization and own a technical roadmap

Core Competencies
