Zillow is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own a broad surface area of the operator experience on the ZHL OS, with a strong front-end focus. You’ll shape micro-frontend architecture, reusable components, and the data-fetching layer that unifies multiple surfaces into a single product.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, across front-end and back-end development.
• Proven experience designing, building, and operating scalable, reliable services in a modern cloud environment.
• Collaborative, agile team player with ability to influence technical direction on complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Architect, develop, and maintain full stack web applications and services across front-end and back-end layers.
• Lead design and implementation of complex features from concept through deployment with focus on performance and security.
• Collaborate with product, design, data, and engineering teams to refine requirements and deliver high-impact solutions.
• Establish and advocate for engineering best practices in code quality, testing, observability, CI/CD, and incident response.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and design discussions to elevate team capability.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize production systems to improve health and user experience.
