Job summary

Peregrine Technologies in San Francisco is seeking an experienced software engineer to join our Foundations team, owning high-impact data platform projects end-to-end.

You will work on ingestion, processing, and enrichment of large-scale customer data, optimize performance, and contribute to a robust, scalable backend stack with Python, Django, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, and AWS. Collaborative, hands-on, and detail-oriented candidates preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience with distributed systems or data-intensive services.
• Experience taking projects from design through production rollout.
• Experience shipping production-grade software.
• Ability to write robust, well-tested, and well-designed code.
• Located in the San Francisco or New York area and open to working in office.

Responsibilities

• Own well-scoped, meaningful projects that improve reliability and performance of Peregrine's data platform.
• Work with datastores, data pipelines, and authorization/notification layers.
• Extend architectural patterns and propose new ones where needed.
• Contribute to incident response and root causes of production issues.
• Collaborate with deployment team and users to iterate and solve problems.
