Job summary

Talanto in San Mateo, CA is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Fleet Management team. You will lead provisioning and fleet rebuilds across bare metal and cloud, shaping MAPI and enabling production-ready infrastructure at scale.

You will collaborate with Compute, Networking, and Cloud teams, drive hardware integration for GPUs and AI accelerators, and push high-performance automation to reduce toil while ensuring reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent field.
• Strong proficiency with Go, C/C++, Rust or other system-level languages.
• Experience building large-scale distributed systems that others depend on.
• Familiarity with bare-metal concepts (PXE/iPXE, DHCP, BMC/IPMI/Redfish, OS imaging) is a plus.
• Interest in GPUs, AI accelerators and cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Machine Bootstrap pod for provisioning and fleet management at scale.
• Ship maintenance operations (BIOS/firmware/config) across hundreds of thousands of machines via MAPI.
• Drive provisioning performance to minimize rebuild time per machine.
• Evaluate and integrate new hardware platforms including GPUs and AI accelerators.
• Collaborate with Compute, Networking, and Cloud teams across the full machine lifecycle.
