SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory's Experiment Control Systems division is seeking a Software Developer to build and maintain Python and C/C++ applications, libraries, and automation scripts that control complex experiments and support data acquisition at the LCLS facility.

You will collaborate with scientists and engineers, guide software quality, work with EPICS infrastructure, review code on GitHub, mentor juniors, and help define roadmaps and technical direction for reliable, scalable

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Sciences, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or closely related field.
• Eight years of relevant experience or a combination of education and experience.
• Strong Python and PyQt GUI development skills.
• Experience with C/C++ development and maintenance.

Responsabilidades

• Develop, maintain, and own Python and C/C++ applications and libraries for experiment operations and data acquisition.
• Collaborate with scientists and engineers to translate requirements into reliable software solutions.
• Troubleshoot issues across the application stack and integrate with EPICS control infrastructure.
• Lead code reviews on GitHub and mentor junior engineers on best practices.
• Define roadmaps, set technical direction, and improve long-term system reliability.
