Job summary

Vizient is seeking a skilled software engineer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications aligned with technology strategy. You will solve complex problems, deliver scalable solutions, and mentor engineers while collaborating with cross-functional teams on strategic initiatives.

You will influence architectural decisions, participate in Agile delivery, and contribute to modernization efforts across multiple domains and systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, or Engineering preferred.
• 5+ years of relevant experience required.
• Experience with SQL development, database design, query optimization, and DDL/DML operations required.
• Java/C#/.NET development with Spring Boot, Spring Java, Spring MVC, JPA or similar.
• Frontend development with JavaScript frameworks, preferably Angular.
• Experience building and supporting RESTful APIs and integrated architectures.
• Experience with Agile delivery, TDD, CI/CD, and AI-assisted development preferred.
• EDI/document integration experience; Boomi or Axway preferred.
• Cloud technologies experience; Microsoft Azure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, support, and maintain enterprise software applications.
• Develop software solutions for complex initiatives spanning multiple technology domains and systems.
• Lead story refinement, estimation, and backlog grooming to support Agile delivery.
• Drive feature-level architecture and design discussions for scalable solutions.
• Contribute to product-level architecture decisions and long-term technology strategy.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, engineers, and business teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Recommend improvements to engineering standards, development practices, and operational processes.
• Identify emerging technologies and opportunities to improve solution delivery.
• Mentor engineers through technical guidance, knowledge sharing, and code reviews.
• Support Agile development practices, including CI, automated testing, and continuous improvement.
