Job summary

Commerce Architects is seeking Senior Software Engineers to own large features, lead architectural decisions, and mentor teams. You will collaborate with clients and executives, guiding technical direction and best practices.

This full-time role offers ~40 hours weekly with occasional extra hours during busy periods. Placement as SSE1 or SSE2 depends on experience and leadership scope, with a growth path toward enterprise consulting and technical strategy.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of professional software development experience with increasing technical leadership.
• Experience designing and delivering large-scale features and components.
• Advanced knowledge of object-oriented programming and design patterns.
• Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases and performance tuning.
• Hands-on with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK).
• Strong communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven mentoring and growth support for other engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, estimation, and delivery of complex features.
• Drive architectural strategy and shape technical direction.
• Mentor and develop junior and mid-level engineers.
• Lead major project streams and break down large initiatives into actionable components.
