Job summary

Foundation Finance Company seeks a Software Architect to define and guide enterprise architecture, ensuring scalability, reliability, and alignment with business priorities. This role emphasizes guardrails, governance, and high‑impact mentoring over daily feature work.

You will lead cross‑team architecture reviews, drive architectural planning across microservices, cloud and security domains, and mentor engineers to promote reusable patterns and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related STEM field.
• Experience with enterprise software architecture and leadership preferred.

Responsibilities

• Translate high-level objectives into actionable technical roadmaps and measurable business value.
• Define and evolve enterprise architecture strategy and guardrails for performance and security.
• Chair cross-team architecture reviews and establish design standards and governance practices.
• Lead architectural planning for cross-system changes including microservices, APIs, and data flows.
• Guide cloud, platform, infrastructure, and security architecture with DevOps and security teams.
• Serve as senior technical escalation point for system failures and reliability issues.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and build proofs of concept to validate future-state architecture.
• Provide architectural mentoring and promote knowledge sharing and reusable patterns.
• Establish engineering best practices including secure coding, TDD, CI/CD, and observability.
• Support Agile/Scrum delivery by clarifying technical scope and sequencing architecture work.
• Other duties as assigned.
