Job summary

Orthogonal is hiring one of its first engineering hires to work directly with the founders on full-stack IC work. We operate with a Vercel stack using TypeScript backend and Next.js frontend, with PostgreSQL.

You will own features end to end including deployment and production support. You should have 5+ years of full-stack experience in high-growth environments, a bias toward ownership, and the ability to mentor teammates.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-stack experience at a high-growth company.
• Background in startups or fast-paced product environments.
• Solid grasp of data structures, system design, and API design.
• Experience leading projects or mentoring engineers.
• Bias toward ownership, curiosity, and delivering simple solutions to complex problems.
• Based in SF or willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate across research, product, and design to ship features quickly
• Write clean, maintainable code and contribute to documentation
• Participate in code reviews and design discussions
• Solve real-world scalability and reliability challenges
• Own features end to end, including deployment, monitoring, and production support
• Mentor teammates and contribute to engineering best practices
