Job summary

RTX seeks a Senior Software Engineer to support tooling, automation, and verification infrastructure within the Embedded Platform Software team. You will develop and maintain engineering tools that streamline avionics product development and certification processes.

The role focuses on building scalable automation, integrating data across Git, Jira, Jama, and Subversion, and ensuring DO-178C traceability. Onsite work in the US is expected with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and minimum 5 years of relevant experience, or an Advanced Degree with 3+ years of experience.
• Experience developing engineering tools or automation using Python, with working knowledge of C and C++.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD systems (GitLab preferred) and Linux-based development.
• Proficiency with Git or Subversion, and experience using Jama and Jira workflows.
• Experience using or supporting build, test, and data systems such as Make/CMake, MongoDB, and Grafana.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain engineering tools and automation scripts to support embedded software development, systems workflows, hardware integration, and verification activities.
• Implement tools that extract, transform, and correlate data from Git, Subversion, Jama and Jira systems.
• Automate documentation and certification artifact generation required for DO‑178C traceability and reporting.
• Support creation and maintenance of Linux- and container-based tooling environments.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines in GitLab, enabling automated build, integration, and verification workflows.
• Build digital test harnesses and verification tools for embedded platform software running on simulators, virtual targets, and hardware-adjacent environments.
