Job summary

Lam Research in California is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software for Lam's etch and deposition products. You will ensure seamless software-hardware integration and collaborate with a centralized software engineering team across the product portfolio.

You'll implement customer requirements, improve and maintain code, document solutions, and mentor junior engineers, with occasional on-site visits and travel up to 10% as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 8+ years, or advanced degrees with fewer years.
• Strong knowledge of OOP/OOD and design patterns.
• Experience with multithreading and embedded communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software for enhancements and new products.
• Implement new customer requirements and features in our existing application.
• Maintain and enhance existing codebase by investigating and resolving issues.
• Document solutions with clear diagrams and well-structured code.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop software.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring for more junior engineers.
• Occasional travel to customer sites (total < 10%).
