Job summary

Lam Research in Oregon seeks a Software Engineer to design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software for its etch and deposition products within a centralized software engineering team. You will ensure hardware/software compatibility and seamless integration across platforms.

You will implement customer requirements, maintain code, document solutions, and mentor junior engineers. Some travel to customer sites (<10%) may be required, with hybrid on-site/remote work options depending on role and project needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in a relevant engineering field with 8+ years (or 6+ years for Master’s; 3+ years for PhD) of experience.
• Strong knowledge of Object-Oriented Software (OOS/OOD/OOP) and Design Patterns.
• Experience with multithreading and inter-device communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software for enhancements and new products.
• Implement new customer requirements and features in existing applications.
• Maintain and enhance codebase by resolving issues and refactoring as needed.
• Provide clear documentation, flowcharts, and well-structured code; present solutions to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop software programs.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring for junior engineers.
• May visit customer sites and travel (<10%).
