Raytheon Space and Air division in El Segundo, CA is seeking a Principal Radar Mode Software Engineer [Embedded / Radar] to be part of their product development teams for the Gen4 Tactical Airborne Radar group.

What you will do
  • Work on complex technical problems and provide highly innovative solutions.
  • Effectively contribute at all phases of the SW development lifecycle, including SW/HW integration
  • Develop RT embedded SW, specifically pertaining to various radar modes and capabilities.
  • Utilize expert level investigation and troubleshooting skills to assess issues and develop solutions.
  • Work effectively with team across multiple disciplines, internal and external
  • Effectively contribute to program and customer meetings/reviews
  • Support the program leads as needed regarding technical decision making, problem resolution.
  • Perform Technical leadership roles for multiple key tasks or line items on programs
  • Mentor multiple engineers on programs in areas of knowledge and expertise
  • Help to ensure performance to technical, cost, schedule, quality.
  • Support of system and software requirements and architecture generation and analysis as needed.
  • Contribute significantly to the successful completion of program milestones and customer deliverables
  • Work Location: Onsite at our El Segundo, CA Campus
  • Must be able to obtain "special access programs" (SAP/SAR) for continuation of employment.
Qualifications you must have
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Development experience coding in C/C++/ADA or related languages/tools in radar-development software is required.
  • Experience working on UNIX, Linux, Windows, VxWorks or other RTOS
  • Experience working in an agile/scrum team hyper-collaborative team environment using typical agile oriented tool suite.
  • Active and transferable U.S. Government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
  • Current DoD Secret and Top Secret Clearance Experience developing Radar Software applications
  • Experience with design, code, integration, and test of software into a large software baseline and large system
  • Knowledge and experience with Radar SW Architecture, Signal or Data processing, including RF SP techniques, adv mathematical algorithms, analytic techniques and simulations
  • Direct experience with Agile methodologies.
  • Proven analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot tool and system operation performance issues.
  • Experience with large complex systems such as airborne radars.

The salary range for this role is 118,300 USD - 224,900 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
