Job summary

Quartermaster seeks a Senior Software Engineer to build the software backbone of its RF sensing platform. You will craft edge apps, data pipelines, and cloud services to convert spectrum data into maritime intelligence, working with RF, FPGA, and hardware teams.

You will own end-to-end components, interact with customers to shape requirements, and operate with independence in a small senior team.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional software development.
• Strong coding in C/C++ and Rust; production Rust experience preferred.
• Systems-level development on embedded Linux with hardware interfaces.
• Proficiency in IP networking and custom TCP/UDP protocols.
• Hands-on AWS experience (S3, IoT Core, Lambda, ECS, Kinesis) preferred.
• RF, SDR, or wireless software experience; familiarity with GNU Radio tools.
• Ability to decompose complex problems and deploy with minimal guidance.
• U.S. security clearance or eligibility to obtain one.
• Bonus: FPGA/SoC exposure or GNSS timing knowledge; defense/maritime programs.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain high-performance software across edge and cloud.
• Architect hardware-aware software interfacing with SDR, FPGA, and embedded Linux.
• Develop streaming paths for IQ samples, detections, and metadata.
• Build cloud data pipelines for high-bandwidth RF captures and telemetry.
• Collaborate with customers to derive requirements and translate to solutions.
• Turn Python/GNU Radio prototypes into production-grade implementations.
• Own provisioning, configuration, versioning, and remote deployment tooling.
• Enforce CI/CD, automated testing, hardware-in-the-loop validation, and docs.
• Support field deployments and diagnose issues using logs and telemetry.
