Job summary

HP Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, implement, integrate, and validate modern software experiences across client apps, backend services, cloud integrations, and embedded devices.

You will contribute to edge AI in HP’s PC Design team, solving ambiguous product challenges and shipping scalable production software while collaborating with architecture, UX, hardware, security, and AI/ML teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Machine Learning, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4-8 years of full-stack software development experience across frontend, backend, and application-level development.
• Hands-on experience building, fine-tuning, or deploying machine learning models in production systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack software features across frontend applications, backend services, local components, and cloud-connected workflows.
• Integrate, evaluate, and deploy ML models (LLMs, vision, audio) into production software, including data prep and monitoring.
• Enable capabilities for audio-video and multimodal models (meeting understanding, video summaries, speaker attribution, cross-modal search).
• Fine-tune and adapt pre-trained models for product-specific use cases with defined datasets and quality metrics.
• Design and implement agentic and retrieval-augmented (RAG) workflows that combine LLMs, tools, and data sources.
• Build and evaluate agentic AI workflows with task decomposition, planning, memory management, and multi-agent orchestration.
• Integrate ML models with cloud platforms and embedded systems for production deployment.
• Define guardrails, evaluation harnesses, observability, failure handling, and cost/latency budgets for agentic systems.
• Develop automated tests and contribute to CI/CD pipelines, packaging, and release readiness.
• Stay updated with ML, CV, robotics advancements and mentor junior team members.
