Job summary

HP IQ, HP’s AI innovation lab, is seeking a Software Engineer to design and build high-performance services powering AI workloads across edge and cloud environments.

You will develop APIs and microservices to connect cloud AI models with edge devices, optimize data pipelines for real-time inference, and collaborate with researchers, infra, and frontend teams to deliver end-to-end AI-driven solutions.

Qualifications

• Requires a Masters in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, AI or related field.
• 1+ years of backend software development experience with Python, Java, and C++.
• Experience integrating LLMs into multi-agent systems and orchestrating tools, memory, and context.
• Familiar with prompting, tool use, task decomposition, and generating structured outputs.
• Knowledge of SQL/NoSQL databases and data streaming technologies.
• Strong problem-solving skills in a fast-paced agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable services powering AI-driven applications.
• Develop APIs and microservices to connect cloud AI models with edge devices.
• Optimize data pipelines and storage for real-time AI inference.
• Collaborate with AI researchers, infra engineers, and frontend developers on end-to-end solutions.
• Build and optimize an agent orchestration runtime for tool use, memory, and multi-step reasoning across LLMs and edge systems.
• Support security and privacy best practices for distributed AI systems.
