Job summary

GiveCampus is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead the Online Giving squad, building donor‑facing forms, pages, and admin tools with a mobile‑first, accessible design. You will own end‑to‑end projects—from architecture to tests—integrating payments across Stripe, ACH, and digital wallets, and collaborating with product and design.

This remote‑first role is based in the United States, offering opportunities to mentor peers and contribute to system security while helping schools raise funds

Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands‑on, real‑world development experience.
• Full‑stack proficiency: a modern front‑end framework (React or Vue.js) plus a backend language and framework (Ruby on Rails, Node.js, Python, or similar).
• Rails and React experience is preferred.
• System design experience with scale and resilience in mind.
• Strong SQL database skills: schema design and query optimization.
• API design and RESTful integration experience.
• Test‑driven mindset: unit, integration, and end‑to‑end testing.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or similar) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Sharp debugging instincts in production, and balance between speed and maintainability.
• Excellent communication and ownership from conception to deployment.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain donor‑facing giving forms, pages, and admin tools with a focus on conversion, accessibility, and mobile‑first design.
• Build and harden payment flows—one‑time, recurring, and memberships—across Stripe, ACH, and Digital Wallets.
• Work across the full stack, from UI components to backend services to database tuning and performance.
• Own projects end to end: architecture, coding, automated testing, deployment, and production support.
• Partner with Product Manager and Designer to translate user needs into technical solutions.
• Mentor engineers and help them grow in their craft.
• Contribute to team standards, debt reduction, and security monitoring.
