Motion Recruitment is seeking a hands-on Senior Software/AI Engineer for an 18-month contract in Charlotte. The role centers on Document AI / Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) with strong Python development and production exposure.

You will work on LangChain, LangGraph, and AI agent-based workflows, implementing OCR and data extraction pipelines, and demonstrating why chosen models and integrations improved a real business workflow.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Software Engineering experience or equivalent.
• 3+ years of AI/ML/Generative AI experience.

Consultant Type: W2 Only

We are looking for a hands-on Senior Software/AI Engineer with 5+ years of software engineering experience and at least 3+ years of practical AI/ML/Generative AI experience. The ideal candidate should have strong Python development experience along with hands-on work in LangChain, LangGraph, Google ADK, AI agents, RAG, and LLM-powered applications.

A major focus of this role is Document AI / Intelligent Document Processing, so we need someone who has actually worked on OCR, PDF/document parsing, data extraction, confidence scoring, rule-based validation, semantic/fuzzy matching, and API integration. The candidate should be able to explain a real production project they personally built, including why they selected a particular model/framework, how the agents worked, what tools/APIs they integrated, and how the solution automated a business workflow.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work or consulting experience, training, military experience, education.
• 3+ years of experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Generative AI, or Intelligent Automation solutions.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Python and AI development frameworks, including LangChain, LangGraph, Google ADK, and agent-based architectures.
• 3+ years of experience implementing Document AI / Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) solutions involving OCR, PDF parsing, data extraction, confidence scoring, rule-based validation, semantic matching, fuzzy comparison, and API integration.
• Strong experience building and deploying LLM-powered applications, AI agents, RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) solutions, and workflow automation platforms.

• Consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Software Engineering
• Review and analyze complex multi-faceted, larger scale or longer-term Software Engineering challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors including intangibles or unprecedented factors.
• Contribute to the resolution of complex and multi-faceted situations requiring solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements that meet deliverables.
• Strategically collaborate and consult with client personnel.
