Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking a senior software architect/engineer to lead the architecture, design and delivery of digital assets platforms, with emphasis on tokenization, real-time settlement, and secure cloud-native services.

The role requires 5–6 years of experience in Java/Spring Boot, distributed systems, and blockchain-related technologies, working in an Agile environment. Strong leadership and collaboration across multiple teams are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience.
• Five to six years of relevant experience.
• Strong experience with Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architectures.
• Knowledge of distributed systems, messaging (Kafka) and cloud-native design.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, design, development, and delivery of the bank’s Digital Assets and Tokenization Platform.
• Design and build secure, scalable cloud-native microservices using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and event-driven patterns.
• Drive technical strategy, solution architecture, and engineering practices across multiple Agile teams.
• Develop and enhance digital asset processing, settlement workflows, and blockchain connectivity services.
• Integrate enterprise apps with blockchain networks, custody providers, wallet platforms, and core banking systems.
• Architect and implement real-time transaction monitoring, ledger sync, reconciliation, and settlement solutions.
• Establish engineering standards including DDD, API-first development, secure coding, CI/CD, observability, and operational excellence.
• Collaborate with Product, Architecture, Compliance, Risk, Security and stakeholders to deliver compliant, secure digital asset capabilities.
• Mentor engineers through design reviews, code reviews and knowledge sharing.
