Job summary

Kwaan Bear IT Solutions, LLC (KBITS) is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead development and integration across autonomous systems and DoD-focused programs. The role emphasizes DevSecOps, ML workflows, and secure software practices in modern engineering environments.

The candidate will apply expertise in Python/C++, ROS/ROS2, Linux, cloud/HPC, and data analytics to build scalable pipelines, train models, and support transition activities while mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 8+ years of progressively responsible software engineering/app development or 12+ years of directly relevant experience in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and sustain software applications, services, APIs, and tooling.
• Architect and implement DevSecOps, CI/CD, automated testing and release pipelines for simulation and digital engineering capabilities.
• Build and maintain data ingestion, processing, annotation, storage, and analytics pipelines.
• Develop ML and computer vision support, including model training, labeling, and automation frameworks.
• Create post-mission analysis, fault analysis, and visualization/reporting tools.
• Integrate software across autonomous platforms and government applications.
• Support HPC, cloud, embedded, Linux, and containerized environments; manage repositories and CM processes.
• Implement secure coding practices and software QA.
