Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer-DevOps with a proven track record of partnering across various teams to deliver a quality, well-tuned system that performs and scales at peak load. In this role, you will work with key members of our Performance Tools Operations teams, System Administrators, and Network Engineers to meet the growing needs of our largest customers.

The ideal candidate is a software engineer with a strong background in DevOps, Configuration Management, web, and network infrastructure architecture and protocols, build and deployment processes, change management, and release management. The candidate must have a passion for building, automating, and deploying scalable solutions.

You will enable peers in engineering, customer support, and cloud teams to leverage our solutions and related services.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you have:

• A desire to seek continuous improvement in quality assurance processes to drive better quality and efficiency.
• Solid knowledge of job control and direct experience with shell scripting and text processing (awk, sed, grep, python).
• Ability to drive architectural discussions and influence technical attributes to streamline and simplify infrastructure.
• Act as a technical strategist for the team, removing manual processes in favor of automation.
• Participate in compliance audits and proactively meet controls.
• Ability to investigate and discover independently, with documentation and peer support.
• Comfort with public cloud infrastructure technologies such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon EC2.
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure concepts like IP networking, storage, load balancers, etc.
• Knowledge of internet protocols such as DNS, LDAP, NTP, SMTP, HTTP.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Integrity and transparency, upholding ServiceNow’s values.

Additional Qualifications

Preferred but not required:

• Experience integrating AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving.
• 5+ years in DevOps activities such as build & deploy systems.
• Relevant experience with large-scale web applications and Linux environments running MySQL and PostgreSQL.
• Ability to collaborate with development teams on deployment, performance, security, and stability.
• Deep knowledge of CentOS/RedHat in large-scale environments.
• Experience with monitoring tools like Jenkins, Splunk.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies like Scrum.
• Experience with the ServiceNow platform and distributed system architectures.

Compensation and Benefits

For this location, the base pay ranges from $126,700 to $215,400, plus equity (if applicable), variable/incentive compensation, and benefits. Compensation varies based on location, qualifications, and skills. We offer health plans, 401(k), ESPP, matching donations, flexible time off, and family leave programs.
