Job summary

Coinbase is hiring Senior Software Engineers for the Developer Infrastructure group. You will design, build, and operate core services spanning CI, build systems, deployment orchestration, and test infrastructure, enabling engineers to ship faster with confidence.

You will own projects end-to-end, focusing on reliability, security, and observability, while mentoring peers and collaborating across Coinbase teams to drive platform improvements at scale.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building and operating production software with strong distributed systems fundamentals.
• Proficiency in Go or a similar language; track record shipping backend/platform systems.
• Strong reliability, security, and observability focus.
• Experience with Kubernetes, AWS, GitHub Actions, Terraform, and containers.
• Excellent communication and ability to drive projects independently.
• Experience in developer infrastructure or platform domains (CI/CD, build systems, release tooling, test infrastructure).
• Datadog observability and performance tooling familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate core developer infrastructure services across CI, build systems, deployment orchestration, and test infrastructure.
• Improve engineering productivity metrics, including build/CI time, deploy speed and safety, and test feedback quality.
• Own services end to end, including architecture, observability, SLOs, and on-call operations.
• Partner with engineering teams across Coinbase to understand pain points and turn them into platform improvements.
• Lead technical design for cross-cutting projects and drive them through production.
• Mentor engineers and help shape the technical direction of the platform.
