Job summary

System One, Inc. is hiring a Senior Software Engineer to lead and build software for tactical/mission-critical defense systems in Huntsville, AL.

This onsite, contract-to-hire role focuses on designing modern modular software frameworks and embedded components for analysis, simulation, and mission planning tools, with hands-on technical leadership. You will require a DoD clearance eligibility, expert C/C++, familiarity with Python/Java, and RTOS environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or science field with GPA of 3.0+.
• 10+ years of relevant experience, or 8+ years with a master's degree.
• Eligible to obtain/maintain DoD security clearance.
• Experience developing/ integrating embedded software with embedded systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead software development for defense systems.
• Design and integrate embedded software and tools.
• Mentor and manage development teams across projects.
• Ensure quality and compliance with DO-178C / MIL-STD-882e.
