Job summary

Gemini is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Invest/Trade team in New York, with hybrid work across hub offices and remote options. The role focuses on building secure, scalable crypto technology and features for the Gemini platform, with a strong emphasis on performance and security.

The position requires 5+ years of software engineering experience, backend proficiency in Scala and C++, and frontend TypeScript.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Scala and C++ on backend, TypeScript on frontend.
• Ability to work closely across teams and manage dependencies.
• Customer- and product-focused mindset with tradeoffs between speed and quality.
• Ability to adapt to multiple priorities in collaboration with peers.

Responsibilities

• Develop new products and features on the Gemini platform with a small team.
• Write automated tests and work with QA to ensure correctness of features.
• Provide technical input to planning, design, and requirements for new products.
• Review other engineers’ code for correctness, style and security concerns.
• Improve performance, maintainability, and operations via refactoring and upgrades.
• Support production software by addressing alerts or bug reports.
• Design, develop and test operating systems level software.
• Oversee risk systems functionality and monitoring tools for performance.
• Coordinate resolution efforts on processing usage issues.
• Own technical issues through resolution and implement data-driven solutions.
• Plan and estimate work efforts for project deployment.
