Job summary

Oracle in Reston, VA is seeking a software engineer to design, implement, and optimize components of distributed systems with a focus on scalability, resiliency, and operability. You will deliver features, run load tests, and build fault-tolerant paths with automation.

You will work on recovery-oriented design, implement retries and timeouts, and develop dashboards and runbooks while ensuring compliance and documentation standards across a cloud-native environment.

Qualifications

• Experience designing scalable distributed systems.
• Knowledge of security controls and encryption practices.
• Ability to implement automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Familiarity with incident response and root cause analyses (RCA).

Responsibilities

• Designs and implements components of distributed systems for scalability and reliability.
• Develops automation scripts and tooling for troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Collaborates across teams to ensure compliance and proper documentation.
• Implements runbooks and participates in incident response and RCAs.
