Job summary

Oracle is seeking a Core Infrastructure Software Engineer in the United States to design, implement, and operate highly available, scalable distributed systems with emphasis on resiliency and operability. You will contribute across the data plane and control plane, ensuring fault tolerance and efficient maintenance.

You will automate engineering workflows, leverage IaC, and apply security controls while collaborating with teams to improve reliability, performance, and incident response.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in systems or application development.
• 3+ years of experience with distributed systems or backend development.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related engineering field.
• Proficiency with data structures, algorithms, and operating systems.
• Experience with distributed systems, including CAP, consensus, messaging and high availability.
• Willfulness to learn and apply AI/LLM tools to engineering workflows.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and operate highly available, scalable microservices across control plane, connectivity, data plane, and Linux daemon technologies.
• Contribute throughout the product lifecycle from concept to deployment and operational maturity.
• Identify opportunities to automate engineering workflows across development, testing, troubleshooting, operations, and docs.
• Measure and improve reliability, delivery velocity, and engineering productivity while sharing best practices.
• Be hands-on, adaptable, and self-motivated to tackle high-availability, scalability challenges.
