Job summary

Tensor is seeking an experienced Senior Control Software Engineer to lead the development of advanced control systems for the autonomous vehicle platform. You will shape behavior and performance of self-driving technology and oversee critical interfaces across perception, planning, and hardware.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in control theory, vehicle dynamics, and real-time systems, with proficiency in C++ and Python.

Qualifications

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in control software development, preferably in automotive or robotics.
  • Strong understanding of control theory, vehicle dynamics, and system modeling.
  • Proficiency in C++ and Python programming languages.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of complex control algorithms for autonomous vehicle systems.
  • Oversee the integration of control software with other subsystems, including perception, planning, and hardware interfaces.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to the control software team.
  • Conduct rigorous testing and validation of control systems in both simulated and real-world environments.
  • Ensure compliance with industry safety standards and best practices.

We are looking for an experienced Senior Control Software Engineer to lead the development of advanced control systems for our autonomous vehicle platform. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the behavior and performance of our self-driving technology.

Locations
  • San Jose, California, US (Salary Range: $75k-$400k USD)
Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of complex control algorithms for autonomous vehicle systems.

  • Hands-on experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) or software-in-the-loop (SIL) testing environments.
  • Contributions to published research in control systems, vehicle dynamics, or robotics.
  • Familiarity with AI and machine learning applications in control systems.
