Job summary

Interactive Brokers in New York, NY seeks a Sr. Software Engineer to build and maintain our compliance surveillance infrastructure.

You will work with quantitative engineers, surveillance model developers, and Compliance stakeholders to translate complex requirements into scalable software designs. Architect and implement large-scale data pipelines and surveillance models processing massive financial data, design schemas for multi-terabyte datasets, and ensure regulatory alignment.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 3 years of software development experience.
• 3 years developing production-grade Python applications.
• 3 years developing in a Linux environment with automation and deployment tasks.
• Experience with Pandas/Polars/NumPy for large data pipelines and analytics.
• Experience with Jira automation and REST API programming.
• Experience with Python Flask servers using RESTful APIs.
• Experience with Jenkins pipelines for CI/CD of Python apps.
• Experience with trade and market surveillance model development.
• Experience with Git and Gerrit for version control and code reviews.

Responsibilities

• Build, develop, and maintain the company’s compliance surveillance infrastructure.
• Collaborate with quantitative engineers, surveillance model developers, and Compliance stakeholders.
• Architect and implement large-scale data pipelines and surveillance models for massive financial data.
• Design database schemas and queries for multi-terabyte datasets with data consistency.
• Ensure systems meet regulatory and operational requirements.
• Implement system changes with the compliance department for effective surveillance.
• Develop software to accelerate workflows and system monitoring.
• Document methodologies for regulatory scrutiny and examination.
