Job summary

Southwest Airlines seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and support secure, scalable integrations across Workday and the enterprise ecosystem. You will lead technical problem-solving, mentor engineers, and drive best practices to improve software quality and operational stability.

This Dallas-based role is offered as a remote workplace position, with occasional onsite meetings or trainings in Dallas and travel as needed. U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information systems or equivalent.
• Experience with enterprise integrations and multi-system architectures, including Workday and cloud tech.
• Experience with CI/CD, automation, and DevOps practices.
• U.S. citizenship or current authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Drive the technical direction and feature roadmap of large-scale cloud systems.
• Serve as a technical lead contributing to and directing development teams.
• Determine operational feasibility by evaluating requirements and solutions.
• Define detailed feature requirements with product managers and customers.
• Support continuous improvement by evaluating new technologies.
• Prepare and install solutions by designing system specifications and standards.
• Evaluate code quality and cross-browser compatibility.
• Mentor Software Engineers to grow skills and knowledge.
• Keep up-to-date with state-of-the-art development tools and practices.
