Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and implement a modern cloud-based Global Warranty Management solution. You will help transform legacy systems to agile, cloud-based platforms and drive valuable business features through robust software development.

You will mentor engineers, maintain high quality standards, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal warranty experiences and actionable insights for product quality and profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, MIS, CS or related field.
• At least 5 years of hands-on experience as an application developer with proficiency in Java and JavaScript.
• Knowledge of software development tools and activities; lead development, quality and tool selection.

Responsibilities

• Perform programming, project management, and development tasks following Agile methodologies.
• Resolve complex application and technical problems, including off-shift support.
• Design, test, and refine prompts and system instructions for large language models to support warranty workflows.
• Communicate with end users and internal customers to guide development, debugging, and testing of software.
• Perform integrated testing and customer acceptance testing for timely, quality results.
