Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and deliver secure custom government platform solutions.

You will manage CI/CD pipelines, harden deployments, and collaborate with Operations and SRE teams to ensure resilient, high-performance services across the government stack. The role requires a solid systems background, 5+ years of experience, and a Bachelor's in Computer Science or equivalent.

Qualifications

• 5 years of relevant experience in software engineering or systems engineering.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Solid knowledge of Linux/Unix administration and debugging tools.
• Proficiency in Linux shell scripting and Python or Perl.
• Experience managing CI/CD automation pipelines with Jenkins or similar tools.
• Hands-on experience with Docker containers, NoSQL databases, cloud storage, and networking protocols.
• Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture, PKI standards, security patching, and overall security practices.
• U.S. Citizenship and eligibility for required security clearance (active clearance not required).

Responsibilities

• Manage CI/CD pipelines, enhance software tools, and develop testing frameworks to ensure quality releases.
• Lead technical initiatives and own the design, deployment, and evolution of custom government network platforms.
• Design and develop next-generation capabilities for custom platform services in a collaborative environment.
• Guide code reviews, apply security patches, and identify ongoing improvements for software delivery and performance.
• Collaborate across cross-functional teams to manage SDLC release cycles using Agile practices and AI-assisted workflows.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, and SRE teams to investigate and troubleshoot complex system issues.
