Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and enhance custom government network platforms within a highly collaborative team. You will drive CI/CD pipelines, implement secure cloud solutions, and work closely with Operations and SRE to deliver resilient, scalable infrastructure.

The role requires strong Linux system knowledge, scripting, and hands-on experience with containers, NoSQL databases, and PKI/security practices. U.S.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or its equivalent.
• Solid knowledge of Linux or Unix administration, system-level software development, and debugging tools.
• Proficiency in Linux shell scripting and Python or Perl.
• Experience managing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or similar tooling.
• Hands-on familiarity with Docker containers, NoSQL databases, cloud storage, and networking protocols.
• Familiar with Zero Trust Architecture, PKI standards, systems security, and patching.
• US Citizenship and security clearance eligibility required.

Responsibilities

• Managing CI/CD pipelines, enhancing software tools, and developing robust testing frameworks to ensure quality release standards
• Leading technical initiatives and taking ownership of the design, deployment, and evolution of custom government network platforms
• Designing and developing next-generation capabilities for custom platform services in a collaborative environment
• Guiding code reviews, applying security patches, and identifying ongoing improvements for software delivery and system performance
• Collaborating across cross-functional teams to manage SDLC release cycles using modern Agile practices and AI-assisted workflows
• Partnering with Operations, Engineering, and SRE teams to investigate and troubleshoot complex technical system issues
