Apple Inc. in the San Francisco Bay Area is seeking a Sr. Software Engineer for Infrastructure Services (Control Plane) to design, build, and operate distributed control planes and orchestration systems powering global compute, storage, and networks.

This role emphasizes scalable architectures, consensus, and high‑quality code with modern CI/CD practices. The position focuses on Go/Java/C++ development, REST/gRPC APIs, and robust fault-tolerance across Apple’s cloud infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Go, Java, or C++, and scripting (Python/Bash).
• Foundations in data structures, algorithms, multithreading, and distributed design.
• Solid networking knowledge: TCP/IP, routing, overlay networks, and virtualization.
• Experience with REST and gRPC APIs, Protobuf, Git, and CI/CD tooling.

Responsibilities

• Design and scale distributed control plane software and orchestration services.
• Develop low-latency APIs and state-synchronization pipelines for centralized/distributed endpoints.
• Build modules for routing, topology management, and fabric automation.
• Drive reliability by triaging failures and guiding root-cause remediation.
• Deliver high-quality software with rigorous testing in Go, Java, or C++.
