Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer in Chicago, IL to lead design, development, testing and deployment of our AWS-hosted digital platform. You will build a world-class environment for a wide range of digital applications, mentor teammates, and drive high-quality software delivery.

You will design backend RESTful services, guide cross-functional Agile teams, and ensure code quality while delivering valuable business features for Caterpillar’s digital ecosystem.

Qualifications

• Experience with Java 17+ and SpringBoot RESTful API development.
• Experience deploying and maintaining software on public clouds such as AWS or Azure.
• Message streaming solutions such as Kafka, AWS Kinesis, SQS, SNS, RabbitMQ.
• Datastores such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, DynamoDB, ElasticSearch, MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis.
• Deploying software using CI/CD tools (Azure Devops, Jenkins, GoCD).
• Experience working within an Agile/Scrum framework.
