Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to provide technical leadership in design, development, testing and deployment of Caterpillar’s state-of-the-art digital platform hosted on AWS.

This role will build a world class platform to host a wide range of digital applications. You will design and implement backend RESTful APIs using microservices, mentor teammates, and lead cross-functional Agile projects while upholding high software quality and clear documentation.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of software development tools and activities.
• Knowledge of software product design; translate market requirements into software design.
• Ability to analyze situations and make informed decisions.
• Understanding of effective communication concepts and practices.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend RESTful API services using Microservices architecture.
• Oversee and mentor developers and conduct code reviews.
• Act as team leader for development and support groups; provide technical leadership and guidance.
• Work on complex application/technical problem identification and resolution.
• Drive development focused on delivering valuable business features.
• Maintain high standards of software quality by adopting best practices.
• Guide the team to document code, operations docs and user guides.
• Lead development of new functionality on cross-functional Agile teams.
