Job summary

CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield is seeking an experienced software engineering leader to steer development and deployment of high-quality applications. You will design, implement, test, and maintain software aligned with the architectural roadmap and product strategy, and you will mentor engineers while guiding technical decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or 4 extra years of related work experience.
• 10 years of SDLC experience ensuring quality and delivery management.
• Collaboration with Architects, Product Owners, Scrum Masters and Value Stream Managers.
• Knowledge of cloud tech (Azure/AWS) and databases (SQL, Oracle, MongoDB, PostgreSQL).

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development, and implementation of multiple applications with technical design, debugging, coding, reviews, and testing.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to align product engineering with architectural roadmap and strategy.
• Provide technical guidance, QA practices (TDD/BDD), and oversee deployment and CI/CD processes.
• Mentor junior engineers and assist in problem solving and production issue triage.
