Job summary

Delta Airlines, a major aviation leader, is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to join our Kentucky-based team. You will collaborate with the digital Channels group to build and maintain core corporate applications, while expanding DevOps practices across on‑premises and AWS environments.

You will mentor junior developers, translate complex business requirements into scalable code, and design architectures with OpenAPI specs.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands-on development experience with XML, TypeScript, Spring, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, Angular 5+.
• Experience with AWS or Azure cloud technologies.
• Knowledge of test-driven development and embedded security practices.
• Experience with containers, Kubernetes, RedHat OpenShift, DevOps, Jenkins, CodeBuild/CodePipeline, API Gateways, Lambda, DynamoDB, Nexus, GitLab, and Agile methodologies.
• Strong automation practices for continuous integration and delivery.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Proficiency in layout patterns (MVC, MVVM, etc.).
• 4+ years of experience with JSON, JavaScript/TypeScript, RESTful APIs, and microservices.
• Experience with .NET/mobile architecture, OAuth, and API security.
• Responsive UI development experience using Bootstrap, Foundation, or similar frameworks.
• Knowledge of DynamoDB, MongoDB, and multi‑tier architecture.
• Experience with Cypress, Jest, UML, Mockito, WireMock, and Unix scripting.
• 2+ years working in Agile teams.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the digital Channels team to develop and maintain core corporate applications.
• Expand and maintain DevOps practices for on‑premises and AWS infrastructure.
• Mentor junior developers with code reviews and architectural guidance.
• Estimate project timelines and deliverables.
• Translate complex business requirements into effective code.
• Develop unit, integration, and end‑to‑end tests.
• Design conceptual, logical, and physical architectures and produce OpenAPI specifications.
• Communicate efficiently with leadership, enterprise partners, and other stakeholders.
