Job summary

Credence is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, develop, and modernize enterprise software for a DoD aviation program in Dayton, OH. You will build scalable applications, APIs, and AI-enabled tooling across cloud environments, DevSecOps, and analytics to enhance mission readiness and logistics.

The ideal candidate has deep experience in modern languages such as Python/Java/JavaScript, strong systems engineering background, and a proven record in Agile development and secure SDLC

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship with an active Secret Security Clearance.
• Master’s or Doctorate in CS/engineering with 10 years experience, including ≥5 years DoD
• Bachelor’s in related field with 12 years of DoD experience, including ≥5 years
• 15 years related experience with ≥8 years DoD
• Experience in software engineering, application development, systems engineering, automation, or related disciplines.
• Proficiency in Python/Java/C#/JS with hands-on production software experience.
• Experience designing, deploying, and maintaining enterprise software, APIs, microservices.
• Experience in Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban).
• Experience in cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP) with containerized apps.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable enterprise software, APIs, and microservices.
• Design cloud-native software architectures and contribute to stack architecture decisions.
• Support deployment via containers and CI/CD, modernize legacy systems through automation.
• Apply secure SDLC practices and government cybersecurity requirements.
• Build AI-enabled capabilities (LLMs, RAG) into production systems with secure integration.
• Translate complex requirements into production software with analysts and stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship across the team.
