Job summary

AIRO Group Holdings, Inc. in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Software Engineer (C2 Integrations) to architect and implement mission-critical interoperability between our autonomous UAS platforms and external C2 networks.

You will own C2 middleware, telemetry pipelines, and SDK adapters to connect diverse GCS and defense networks. You will work hands-on with C++, Rust, and Python, integrating Cursor on Target, MAVLink, UCI, and OMS, and you will verify systems through SITL/HITL testing and live flight

Qualifications

Proven software leadership in robotics, aerospace, defense tech, or autonomous systems.
Expertise in C++/Rust with Python for backend integration and tooling.
Deep knowledge of C2 protocols (MAVLink, CoT) and open defense architectures (UCI/OMS).
Hands-on plugin development for ATAK/TAK ecosystems and third-party GCS.

Responsibilities

Architect C2 middleware and SDK adapters to link UAS platforms with GCS and defense networks.
Lead integration of CoT, MAVLink, UCI, and OMS across airborne/ground nodes.
Build low-latency video streaming and telemetry routing pipelines (RTSP, WebRTC).
Develop TAK/GCS plugins for ATAK/TAK ecosystems.
Run SITL/HITL testing to validate C2 layers before live flight deployments.
Coordinate field trials with operators and engineers for real-time telemetry.
