Job summary

The AIRO Group seeks a Software Engineering Lead (C2 Integration) to architect and deliver C2 abstraction layers linking autonomous UAS platforms with external C2 networks and GCS. You will own strategy for CoT, MAVLink, UCI, and OMS, ensuring low-latency performance in contested environments.

Lead SITL/HITL testing regimes, deploy field-ready integrations, and collaborate with flight-test operators to validate real-time telemetry and C2 links across diverse networks.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software experience in robotics, aerospace, or autonomous systems.
• Proficiency in C++/Rust with Python for backend integration.
• Experience with C2 protocols (CoT, MAVLink, UCI/OMS) and middleware.

Responsibilities

• Architect C2 middleware and abstraction layers to link UAS with GCS and defense networks.
• Drive interoperability using CoT, MAVLink, UCI, and OMS across airborne and ground nodes.
• Build low-latency video and telemetry pipelines (RTSP, WebRTC, UDP/TCP).
• Develop TAK/GCS plugins for ATAK, WinTAK, and commercial GCS.
