Qualifications

• 3+ years of software development experience; no maximum experience requirement.
• Strong object-oriented design skills and knowledge of website design and usability.
• Strong Java skills or demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to Java.
• Solid SQL experience.
• Experience delivering enterprise software strongly preferred.
• Experience diagnosing and resolving performance, scalability, and concurrency issues, both in applications and databases, strongly preferred.
• Experience with Hibernate and/or Spring preferred.
• Experience with Google Cloud, Kubernetes, and Gradle is a plus.
• BS or BA in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a fast-paced environment to generate ideas and quickly turn them into robust, well-tested, functioning code, including but not limited to Java.
• Work with Product Management to define and prioritize future functionality.
• Operate in a modified Scrum environment where the team collaborates to scope, estimate, and divide work, then manages projects independently.
• Peer review other engineers’ code to help identify bugs, performance issues, and security issues, while providing feedback on code cleanliness.
• Play a key role in developing best practices for software design, implementation, and coding standards.
• Produce high-quality code and deliver completed projects within committed timelines.
• Perform unit and system-level testing on applications and all affected systems.
• Implement all aspects of application design, including: Coding, Caching mechanisms, State management, Error logging, Scalability, Naming standards, Other aspects of effective application design and development
