Job summary

Commure + Athelas seeks a Senior Software Engineer to scale and maintain our Insights platform, enabling thousands of practices nationwide. You will own frontend and backend work, design APIs, and drive architectural decisions with a strong focus on reliability and performance.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with product/design teams, and deliver high-impact projects in a fast-paced environment serving healthcare providers and staff.

Qualifications

• . 5+ years of professional software development experience, with a focus on building scalable full-stack applications.
• . Proficiency in full-stack development with expertise in JavaScript (React/Vue), Python, and PostgreSQL.
• . Strong architectural skills with experience designing and maintaining highly scalable, reliable, and performant web applications.
• . Experience leading multi-month, high-impact projects, balancing trade-offs, and delivering results in a fast-paced environment.
• . Deep understanding of modern front-end engineering—React fundamentals, performance optimization, state management, and component-driven design.
• . Experience working with complex backend systems, including designing APIs and optimizing database performance.
• . Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, with a focus on observability (monitoring, logging, and alerting best practices).
• . Ability to mentor engineers and drive technical excellence across the organization.
• . Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively present technical concepts to leadership and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Drive the technical direction of our practice management platform, Insights, ensuring it scales to support thousands of practices and millions of users
• Design, build, and maintain scalable full-stack solutions using ReactJS, Python, and PostgreSQL
• Improve system reliability and observability by implementing best practices in monitoring, logging, and alerting
• Optimize performance and scalability of our web applications, ensuring seamless user experiences as we rapidly expand
• Collaborate with infrastructure and backend teams to ensure high availability and resilience of core functions
• Mentor and guide engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning
• Lead and deliver high-impact projects, balancing speed and quality in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment
• Conduct in-depth code reviews, uphold best practices, and drive architectural improvements across the stack
• Work closely with product and design teams to build intuitive, user-friendly experiences for healthcare providers and staff
