Motional is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to advance simulation and analysis tools for its autonomous driving stack. You will work on core tooling in C++ and Python, focusing on high-performance bindings and user-friendly interfaces to accelerate development and root-cause analysis.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in software development, experience with large codebases, and a passion for driverless technology.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of software development and testing experience.
• Strong proficiency in C++ with focus on high-performance, resilient systems.
• Experience navigating large, complex codebases with good documentation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain simulation and analysis tools for autonomous driving tech.
• Design and implement high-performance tooling in C++ and Python.
• Build GUI debuggers and 2D/3D visualizers for logged data.
• Collaborate with planning and controls engineers to define tool requirements.
• Continuously optimize tools for performance and usability.
• Address engineering pain points with robust software solutions.
