Cohere is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build autonomous security agents and orchestration systems for enterprise security. You will implement security controls and work across the stack to deploy safe, production-ready AI-enabled agents in high-trust environments.

Join the North Security team and help ship secure, scalable AI systems while collaborating with researchers and engineers across Cohere's global offices. This role is remote-friendly with global teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with shipping user-facing security features.
• Strong Python development skills with production experience.
• Experience with autonomous systems, AI agents, or intelligent automation.
• Solid understanding of session management, authentication, authorization, and secure coding.
• Security-focused mindset across application, agent behavior, and infrastructure layers.
• Able to work across the full stack and learn unfamiliar code quickly.
• Thrives in fast-paced environments with evolving priorities.
• Passionate about AI/ML and security engineering.

Responsibilities

• Build autonomous security agents that perform alert triage, secure code reviews, threat modeling, and vulnerability assessment.
• Develop agent orchestration systems to automate repetitive security tasks.
• Design and implement agent security controls for safe interaction with enterprise data.
• Create security infrastructure for high-trust deployment environments.
• Ship production-ready agent capabilities optimized for resource-constrained environments.
• Research and implement novel security patterns for AI agent systems, with custom solutions when needed.
• Conduct security testing of agents and the platform that runs them.
