Job summary

Commerce Architects is seeking Senior Software Engineers to own large functional areas, lead feature design, and mentor engineers across client projects. You will collaborate with clients, guide architectural decisions, and help establish engineering best practices in a full-time role with ~40 hours/week and occasional busy periods.

Depending on placement (SSE1 or SSE2), responsibilities include leading design, shaping technical direction, mentoring teams, and serving as a trusted advisor to

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of professional software development with increasing levels of technical leadership.
• Experience designing and delivering large-scale features and components.
• Advanced knowledge of object-oriented programming and design patterns.
• Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases, including performance optimization.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK, etc.).
• Ability to decompose complex problems, delegate effectively, and drive solutions to completion.
• Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Mentoring and supporting the growth of other engineers.
• Consulting or client-facing technical experience (especially valuable at higher levels).
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship.
