Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer for Frontier AI Tools in Seattle, WA. You will own technical design, implementation, and health of platform capabilities and delivery workflows spanning Proserve, Frontier AI, and services teams to accelerate customer outcomes.

You will lead architecture, mentor engineers, and build reusable components, APIs, and automation while balancing reliability, security, and performance in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.
• 3+ years of experience designing and building agentic orchestration or workflow‑orchestration systems (multi‑step agent workflows, tool/service orchestration, or state management across distributed services)

Responsibilities

• Own the technical design, implementation, and operational health of platform capability, or delivery workflow
• Build production‑grade software that helps Proserve and Frontier AI teams understand customer context, develop solutions, coordinate delivery, and measure customer outcomes
• Partner with delivery teams to turn recurring customer needs into reusable software components, APIs, templates, and automation
• Lead design reviews and make sound tradeoffs across reliability, security, performance, cost, delivery speed, and maintainability
• Build secure integrations with approved AWS services, internal platforms, customer systems, and governed data products
• Establish testing, monitoring, logging, alerting, documentation, and incident‑response mechanisms for owned systems
• Partner with Security Engineering to implement security‑by‑design requirements and remediate identified risks
• Partner with Product & / or Data engineering to define product instrumentation, event schemas, and data contracts
• Mentor engineers, provide high‑quality code reviews, and raise the technical bar for the immediate team and adjacent Forward Deployed Engineering pods
• Communicate technical decisions, risks, and delivery progress to engineering, product, GTM, and customer stakeholders
