Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. is seeking a Senior Applied Scientist to own high-impact, end-to-end ML projects spanning GenAI agents, knowledge graphs, and recommendations for AWS Frontline teams in Seattle and beyond.

You will partner with Sales & Delivery to translate business questions into deployable ML solutions, set technical direction on ambiguous problems, and mentor junior scientists while communicating results to executives and non-technical partners.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s with 6+ years ML experience.
• Experience with SQL and Python.
• Strong written and verbal communication to executives and non-technical leaders.
• Experience managing and deploying ML products.

Responsibilities

• Own full lifecycle of complex science problems: framing, data exploration, modeling, and production deployment.
• Set technical direction on ambiguous problems and make design decisions.
• Partner with Sales & Delivery consultants to translate business questions into science and recommendations.
• Raise the scientific bar through reviews, mentorship and hands-on guidance.
• Communicate methods, trade-offs, and results to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Use Python, PySpark, and SQL for data analysis and model development.
